Its Mango season down here in the south land. Mangoes everywhere. We have been watching the mangoes grow on the trees and wondering how they were going to harvest all of the fruit. Mango trees are massive and the fruit grows all the way to the top.
The mango harvesters climb all the way up with bags that hang from the tree and fill them with mangoes and then using a pully system send the full bags down and bring empty bags up. They also use a long net on a pole to get those hard to reach mangos.
We tried out hand at harvesting some mangoes. We used a stick with a nail through the top to knock loost the mangoes and then collect them as they fall to the ground. Watch your head!
